About Northern Bear

Investment strategy

Northern Bear’s strategy is to grow by acquiring well established, cash generative building services businesses based in Northern England.

Northern Bear seeks to acquire businesses where the long term owner is seeking to realise value. The incentives for the vendor to sell combine both payment for the business they have built up with the opportunity to own shares in an AIM-listed company which operates in a sector they know well.

One of the key objectives for Northern Bear is to make sure that the change in ownership from the private to the public domain does not disrupt the qualities and progress of the acquired businesses.

Company history

In December 2006 Northern Bear completed the acquisition of Isoler, Roof Truss, Floor Joist, Springs Roofing and Wensley Roofing and started dealing ordinary shares on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange.

Since then the following acquisitions have been made:
MGM (2007)
Chirmarn (2007)
Chirmarn Surveying (2007)
Hastie D Burton (2007)
Jennings Roofing (2007)
A1 Trucks (2008)

Northern Bear has also expanded as a result of organic growth within the group:
